Six pregnant women bare their bumps at Piccadilly Circus, demanding an end to fossil fuels
On the morning of July 31 at Piccadilly Circus, six women stood with their six unborn children in their pregnant bare bellies, demanding an end to fossil fuels. The words ‘My Future’ were printed on their bumps and they held a giant ‘umbilical cord’, connected to a petrol pump and nozzle. Desperate for a cleaner world for their unborn children, they were drawing attention to Extinction Rebellion’s demand for an immediate ban on all new fossil fuel projects.

From 10am on Sunday August 1 Extinction Rebellion will join in support of the Afrikan Emancipation Day Reparations Rebellion Groundings to block Brixton Road from Max Roach Park to Windrush Square. Paralympian who scaled a plane guilty of public nuisance
Former Paralympian, James Brown, who climbed on top of an aircraft during XR’s October 2019 Rebellion was yesterday found guilty by a jury at Southwark Crown Court. James, 56, who is registered blind, was charged with public nuisance after live-streaming from the top of the plane at London City Airport and gluing himself on.

First XR defendant acquitted under Supreme Court’s ‘Ziegler’ ruling
One of the first XR defendants to be tried for Obstruction of the Highway following the landmark Ziegler Supreme Court ruling has been acquitted. District Judge Cohen ruled that Ben Benatt, an environmental scientist from Brighton, was acting reasonably and proportionately when he sat in the road during the September 2020 Rebellion and refused to move.
