BREAKING: This morning at 7am on World Health Day, Doctors for Extinction Rebellion have blocked the road outside HM Treasury in London, calling for an end to the UK government's financial support for fossil fuels. Six of them locked onto oil barrels in the road, whilst others held banners saying ‘For Health’s Sake: Stop Financing Fossil Fuels’ and ‘Clean Energy, Less War”.

The Court of Appeal has ruled today that James Brown, the blind Paralympian who climbed on top of an aeroplane in October 2019, be released on bail. James, who is serving a 12 month sentence at Wandsworth Prison, will be released later today or tomorrow morning.
From 5am this morning, Extinction Rebellion has blocked a total of 15 Amazon fulfilment centres in the UK, Germany and the Netherlands on Black Friday, the major global discount day. In the UK, people from all across the country are taking part, with 13 blockades in Doncaster, Darlington, Newcastle, Manchester, Peterborough, Derby, Coventry, Rugeley, Dartford, Bristol, Tilbury, Milton Keynes and Dunfermline. This morning, sixty doctors, nurses, midwives and other healthcare workers delivered an urgent public health message to the world’s biggest fossil fuel funder JP Morgan. Four held a banner saying ‘End Fossil Fuel Funding’, others chalk-sprayed ‘CODE RED’ on the walls and the rest staged a ‘die in’ in front of the doors to symbolise the deaths caused by fossil fuel funding. Several doctors were forcibly removed quickly and aggressively by security.
