Restore Nature Now March
Saturday, 22nd June 2024
London
Nature Needs You!
Rivers choking on pollution, precious woodlands destroyed, seas overfished & peat bogs burned. Nature in the UK is being assaulted.
Last year XRUK created The Big One, where we invited other organisations, charities and groups to demand government action on the climate and ecological nature. On June 22 we return to London, this time, side by side with dozens of organisations and thousands of people from across the country to demand action in a truly co-created action.
Pledge to march, find out more information and check out the supporting organisations: www.restorenaturenow.com

- Why are *they* here?
-
Extinction Rebellion is committed to urgent and effective action to address the climate and ecological crisis. In pursuit of this goal, this particular action is organised under a uniting banner. It is beyond our immediate influence to decide who can and can’t join, with a broad invitation being shared with wildlife and environmental groups.
The reality is that the challenges we face, including climate change and biodiversity loss, require collaboration and solidarity among diverse groups. While we may not always agree with every aspect of an organisation’s approach or history, we recognize the importance of standing side by side with a wide range of supporters to maximise our impact.
The invitation is still open to all supporting organisations to align with the demands to Restore Nature Now to join.
The government wants us to be divided. Let’s step into our collective power instead.
- How does this relate to XRUKs movement strategy?
-
The current movement strategy “Here Comes Everyone” has an overarching message of mobilising a diverse and inclusive movement to address the climate and ecological emergency.
As part of a movement of movements and engaging with organisations and individuals beyond our traditional base, we can broaden our reach and mobilise more people to join the movement. This diversity of voices and perspectives strengthens our collective impact and increases our ability to affect meaningful change.
- Can I (or my LG) speak to other local organisations?
-
We hope that local groups will be able to build on their existing relationships and come to Restore Nature Now . There is also great potential with other supporter organisations who are taking part in action, many joining Extinction Rebellion on the streets for the first time.
You can find resources and guidance to support community alliance building on the Rebel Toolkit.
