For immediate release. This July, the Insure Our Survival (IOS) campaign marks one powerful year of mobilisation. Over the past 12 months, IOS has coordinated more than 150 actions, targeting 27 insurance firms in over 40 towns and cities. Now, the momentum is accelerating. From 2-14 July, a UK-wide Wave of Action will ramp up pressure on the insurers enabling climate destruction. Across the country, activists will expose the “dirty insurers” underwriting and brokering some of the world’s most devastating fossil fuel projects.

The Hounslow Mela, which took place on the 21st June, is a Desi festival which celebrates South Asian culture. Mela comes from the Sanskrit a place 'to gather' and was a fantastic place for XR Unify to engage with the diaspora on climate issues while bringing the community together through art.

The Rugby Football Union has failed so far to respond to questions about the due diligence it carries out when selecting suitable sponsors. Extinction Rebellion put the questions to the RFU in writing on Thursday ahead of the rugby final at Twickenham this weekend.

The climate protectors accused of breaking the windows at the offices of Rupert Murdoch’s News UK, publishers of tabloid The Sun, had their trial postponed on the day it was due to begin. Southwark Crown Court said they had overbooked and there was not enough court space to hear the trial. Consequently the case was postponed until 16 November 2026 - some four and a half years after the action.
