Extinction Rebellion disrupts pipeline engineer’s offices to demand East African Crude Oil Pipeline boycott

At 08:30 this morning, Extinction Rebellion disrupted the offices of petro-engineering multinational firm Worley in Brentford, Middlesex, demanding they drop their client EACOP. Worley will be laying the controversial 900-mile cross-border East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP), which is set to displace over 100,000 people, harm the natural environment and increase CO2 emissions by 34 million tonnes a year.

BREAKING: Extinction Rebellion targets ‘corrupt’ UK Finance HQ in London

This morning, Extinction Rebellion targeted lobbying firm UK Finance's headquarters at 1 Angel Court near Bank in London. Two people threw pink paint over the glass panelling across the front of the building. Others stuck a large sticker with the word ‘CORRUPT’ on the window. Personal statements explaining why people took part were stuck to the windows. 6 people have been arrested.

Eversheds Sutherland: Cut the ties to planet-wrecking companies, demand XR and HS2 Rebellion across England and Wales

At noon today, 60 people from Extinction Rebellion and HS2 Rebellion began disrupting the offices of law firm Eversheds Sutherland in Birmingham, Cardiff, London and Nottingham. They are protesting against the law firm’s complicity in the destruction of the planet by facilitating injunctions for companies like Esso (ExxonMobil) [1] and High Speed 2 (HS2) [2]. These injunctions criminalise nonviolent environmental protest and suppress protest rights.

Extinction Rebellion disrupts London Fashion Week calling on them to cut ties to plastic polluters, Coca Cola

On Monday 20 February 2023, the penultimate day of this year's London Fashion Week, Extinction Rebellion and affiliated groups gathered at 180 The Strand in London to demand an end to fossil fuel sponsorship of cultural events. A red carpet was rolled out where models in white boiler suits with 'cut the oil out of Coke' in red paint paraded up and down their own catwalk. A giant red banner has been unfurled in front of the venue reading 'Coca Cola, World's Top Plastics Polluter' alongside a banner reading 'Cut The Ties To Fossil Fuels'. Giant cola bottles filled with fake oil are being poured outside the venue.

‘Defend Human Rights’: Extinction Rebellion and Kill the Bill call on House of Lords to reject Public Order Bill

From 5pm today, crowds gathered outside Parliament as “draconian” anti-protest laws in the Public Order Bill reached a crucial stage in the House of Lords. Twelve protesters from Extinction Rebellion have occupied the public viewing platform in the Peers Chamber and intend to remain there throughout the debate. They are wearing T-shirts printed with the words: ‘Defend Human Rights’.

Extinction Rebellion posts blue plaques for MPs who voted against protection for rivers

Over 80 blue plaques in the style of English Heritage's London blue plaques have appeared on UK beaches and rivers on Saturday 28 January.[1] The plaques hoped to highlight the decision made by UK politicians to block a law that would see better protection for rivers from raw sewage dumping.[2] The plaques have been installed around the UK by various environmental groups including Extinction Rebellion (XR) and Surfers Against Sewage. Some blue plaque unveilings will be accompanied by actions and protests.
