Jonty Henshall, 54, carpenter from Penzance
Jonty was arrested on 16th April at Waterloo Bridge during the 2019 April Rebellion under Section 14 of the Public Order Act. He was tried on 13th January 2020 at City of London Magistrates’ Court, found guilty and given a nine month conditional discharge and £250 court costs. He was arrested again on 7th October 2019 during the 2019 October Rebellion for Obstructing the Highway on Lambeth Bridge, even though the police had already blocked it. His case was dismissed.
“We’ve started the correction. It might be too late but at least we’ve started it. Lots of us in the group are thinking about deep adaptation, but hoping it won’t be necessary and we can still turn things around. Sadly after the [2019] election, I’m very pessimistic.”
