Heat Strike - Extinction Rebellion UK

Heat Strike

May 2025 was the hottest May on record, with temperatures in the UK getting up to 29.3ºC. It’s going to be another hot year, but the government continues to take no action to protect its citizens from the dangers of ever-increasing heatwaves through the climate crisis.

XRUK are part of a coalition of organisations involved in the Heatstrike campaign which is re-launching for the summer of 2025. Between 14th and 20th of July, unions, movements and campaigning organisations around the UK are partnering with Heat Strike for Turn Up The Heat Week.

How may I become involved?

The campaign will call a heat strike on the hottest day. This will be announced closer to the time. Meanwhile, you can watch the recording of the first zoom session:

Connect locally.
