Extinction Rebellion Waltham Forest - Events and Announcements
Rebel for Life is back – and this time the focus is on Regen!
The original Rebel for Life was a big success. We thought about why we rebel – as oppose to protest – and the philosophy that underpins Extinction Rebellion.
This time we will shift the focus to what it means to be arrested, from a personal perspective. We will look at how being arrested can mean different things to different people. We actively encourage people of different minority groups to come and join in.
We’ll be hearing from some of our Rebels who were arrested in the April Rebellion – what it was like for them to be arrested and how it feels to live with the consequences of an arrest. Be sure to bring your questions for them.
You don’t have to be ‘arrestable’ to attend. Perhaps you’re undecided about whether you’d like to be arrested and would like to find out more. It’s so important to think carefully about whether being arrested is right for you. This event will create a space for you to do just that.
We hope to see you there!
Extinction Rebellion is a peaceful international movement that aims to achieve radical change in order to minimise the risk of human extinction and ecological collapse.
We are in rebellion against the UK government for its criminal inaction in the face of this climate crisis. This April we blockaded 5 sites across London for over a week and will not stop until our demands our met. From October 7th we will be back on the streets for the Autumn Rebellion, https://www.facebook.com/events/350862888939201/, book time off work now!

We want to create a culture which is healthy, resilient and adaptable, benefiting both people and the wider environment.
We welcome everyone and every part of everyone so join us at an XR Waltham Forest event soon to meet the local people already involved and find your place in the movement.
