28 January 2022
18:00 - 21:00
Exeter Phoenix, Exeter, United Kingdom
Update!! More tickets released!!
Come along to the Phoenix in Exeter to meet the XR UK Strategy Rollout team and hear about the updated Extinction Rebellion strategy.
The strategy for the next year will be published on 23rd January. The strategy argues for reinvigorating the original theory of change; of mass-mobilising towards around 3.5% of the population, using civil resistance and material disruption, not symbolic or illustrative actions, to force the required level of pressure.
The Strategy Rollout team will be holding a UK wide zoom meeting on the 24th and a SW based on zoom meeting the 29th January (14:00 to 16:00) but at the moment this is the only in-person meeting planned in the South West. We would love to have representatives from XR groups around Devon as well as many local members as possible to feedback thoughts on the strategy and discuss how to implement the strategy.
What XR does this year affects everything. Our new strategy identifies what we can do in our local areas, what we need to do when we come together in Rebellion, and how important what happens here in the UK is to the rest of the world.
Three and a half years ago we started the biggest Civil Resistance movement in Britain since the Suffragettes. Some say it’s the most successful start-up in history: over 100 countries and every continent – even Antarctica.
The reality? We’ve only just got started. And in 2022 we step up.
A link to the strategy will be published here when it is available. Meanwhile this document has some clues to the content: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1JLts67tKz1Vn3gehMVnIevMWYMC76C2iuo872GmLsKk
