hosted by

Extinction Rebellion London

Join the XR Skeletons Rebellion to construct a variety of aquatic skeletons to take part in a powerful funeral procession for the oceans. Our vision is for a shoal of ghostly fish to swim above the heads of the mourners.

Workshop demonstrations will be held at 10.30am and 2pm – led by artist Alistair Lambert.

Fri 14th will now start from 10am (10.30am demonstration) if people are able to make the whole day we recommend arriving in the morning, otherwise for the 2pm demonstration.
Sunday 16th runs from 2pm (please arrive on time) – thanks!

We will be pooling our techniques and designs. Everyone is welcome whatever your skills and experience. We will start working on the shoal of fish, small in scale but in big numbers and work our way up to the food chain to see how far we can get. Who knows what magnificent monsters might surface?

These workshops are part of an ongoing process for makers to come together, share ideas and contribute powerful imagery that helps draw attention to the crisis of Extinction and the causes of
the rebellion.

Materials:
We aim to up-cycle and reuse materials as much as possible.
In particular, if you can, please bring
– Flattened Tetra Pak type Milk cartons (washed)
– Bubble wrap
– Plastic bottles
– Newspaper

Techniques:
We will be honing our techniques through the process of the workshops with the aim of creating an accessible online resource. We will be starting simple and building our techniques as the bones demand.

This is part of a series of non-violent creative actions to raise awareness and cause disruption around
the issues of climate change.
