Renewable Energy and Decarbonising the Grid

The world needs to rapidly move from a hydrocarbon based energy system (fossil fuels) and switch to 100% sustainable renewable energy. This is a monumental challenge and is going to need wide public support. This XR Engineer talk is to increase peoples understanding of our energy system, what decarbonising actually means to individuals, communities and country.
The talk is by an active XR member who is a qualified renewable energy consultant, a member of the Energy Institute and with a wealth of experience of both UK and international renewable energy projects.
This is crash course explains what is renewable energy and the different types including:
Solar PV, Heat Pumps, Biomass, Solar Thermal, Hydro, Wind turbines, Wave & Tidal, Geothermal. Plus what is a smart grid and why we need them.
There will be a Q&A session at the end.
