Rebellion; Giant Flag Painting/Performance workshops

GIANT Flag Performance Workshop THIS WEEKEND: Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th Oct. at SET SPace in Wimbledon. 10am-4pm. (no experience needed just availability to be at the rebellion on Oct 7th onwards)
This is an open call for people interested in being part of the giant flag performance roving like fire at Trafalgar Square during the opening ceremony and across all sites during the Rebellion.

Our house is on fire – let’s act like it.

Join Brazilian activist and community artist Otavio Avancini in creative workshops and his open studio sessions to paint huge, flame-life flags to be used for dance performances at Trafalgar Square and across the whole rebellion.

For two weeks from 7 October Extinction Rebellion will transform Trafalgar Square into a representation of our burning planet. Wildfires are ripping across the Arctic. Ice is melting at speeds never thought possible. Deadly heatwaves are crippling countries around the world.

Burning Earth is a wake-up call: Artistic representations of waters running red, burning forests, and extinct animals tell an emotional story of the end of time.

Extinction Rebellion are calling on rebels to join Avancini in collaboratively painting massive flags for dancing performances during the October Rebellion. The flames will together make a burning fire to sweep through the site.

Drop-in open studio: Thursday 26th September – 4 October 9am-2pm

Flag dancing workshops: Saturday 5 & Sunday 6 October with performers Andrea Maciel and Tiago Gamboge
