Love Rebellion – East of England + Midlands – From 7th October

07 October 2019

20 October 2019

10:00 – 18:00

Horse Guards Road, London

hosted by

Extinction Rebellion Cambridge

From the 7th October, Extinction Rebellion groups from across the East of England and Midlands will join forces to establish a site in the area around Horse Guards Parade in London, with the intention of remaining there for as long as it takes. Alongside a multitude of other sites, each coordinated by other regions and allied movements, we will join our fellow Rebels and come together to peacefully shut down Westminster in until the government acts on the climate and ecological crisis.

Each Rebellion site has a theme, and the theme for the East of England & Midlands site is ‘Love.’ The area will be decorated accordingly and will model the ‘Regenerative Culture’ of Extinction Rebellion; a way of living that is more connected with other human beings and the environment, less psychologically intense than the norm of long hours, high stress, and emotional and physical isolation from others. We will honour Extinction Rebellion’s radically inclusive ethos to create an inspirational and empowering space.

We will use our site as a zone for Rebels to rest and recover during the Rebellion period as well as a site for outreach to grow the Rebellion. There will be music, poetry, arts and talks.

The breakdown of our climate has begun. We’re nearly out of time. Take two weeks off work, bring your family and friends and join us in the streets to save – and reclaim – life. The time is now. Say you were there.

Let’s demonstrate what a beautiful, loving Rebellion this really is.
