How to be a Spokesperson for your Local Group

This training is an introduction to being a spokesperson (Spokes) speaking to TV, Radio and Print Journalists.

All rebels are potentially Spokes, so it’s fine to come whether you’re desperate to speak on the Andrew Marr show or if you’re just wanting to find out more before you commit yourself!

It will not cover how newsrooms work, how to write a press release, how to engage the media’s interest.

Practical info:

🥗 Please bring your supper, pen, paper, smart-phone / tablet / dictaphone with you (not the same one you use to access Zoom).

📱 Before the Zoom, please practice making a recording of yourself on the device so you are familiar with it. Can be a voice recording app, memo app, can be video with camera on or off…

📻 Also, think through an action/subject you’d like to be interviewed about by a journalist.
