Since July, polls have seen the climate overtake the economy in importance to voters, with almost half of 18-24 year olds saying it ranked among their top 3 issues facing the country, whilst 71% of the UK public agree that climate change is more important than Brexit.
Locally, challenges include air pollution, housing and energy, and the threat from a rising River Thames.
Globally, the IPCC has reported that emissions need to begin falling by 2020 to keep temperature rise below 1.5C, whilst the IMF recently wrote of the “potentially infinite costs of unmitigated climate change”.
