Dept. for Education: Teach Climate Truth
Let’s demand an educational revolution that teaches the reality of climate and ecological breakdown. Our letter to the Department for Education: https://learningrebellion.earth/letter-to-the-department-for-education/
Monday 21 October. Meet 10.30am at Old Palace Yard, to march to the Department for Education, 20 Great Smith Street, Westminster, London, SW1P 3BT to arrive at 11am.
The day will be performance, talks and action in the streets. Family friendly and fun.
We are facing a climate and ecological catastrophe. Young people have contributed the least and will be most affected.
Under the national curriculum a student could leave school having heard climate change mentioned in as few 10 lessons out of 10,000.
We are not even teaching the reality of climate breakdown in our schools, colleges and universities.
STUDENTS HAVE RESPONDED TO THE CRISIS, NOW EDUCATORS MUST TOO.
On October 21st Educators and students will gather to demand that every educational institution is fully supported to make students aware of the crisis and informed about why it is happening and what responses are necessary. We also demand a meaningful review of all educational policies in light of the climate and ecological emergency.
