Extinction Rebellion Action on Bank Holiday Saturday
A funeral march that transforms. A Jazz band. Black-clad mourners, marching in sombre mood, to mark the death and destruction wrought by humans on our natural world. And then it changes (you’ll have to wait and see….) to celebrate joyously the beauty and power of nature.
We are hoping this will be an inspiring action with a big presence in the town, that will remind people about resisting climate change and hopefully get them interested in joining the actions in London.

Turn up on the day
Come at 11.00 to Westgate Street on Saturday 29th August
Setting off at 11.30. Formal funeral attire is requested. With an
umbrella or a parasol. But you can also just come as you are. Bring placards.
Have some fun getting ready
Come to a workshop with the XR Lewes creatives – what an opportunity! –
to create and paint, preparing your presence at the event. So you can
join the leading group. If you can’t come, we can help you prepare at
home, and still join the leading group.
Next workshop will be 1.30 – 4.00 upstairs at Zu Cafe (opposite
Waitrose, above the bus station). Places are limited so we can keep a
suitable distance indoors.
